The Summer "Young Riders" Equestrian Programme caters for children, 10 - 18 years of age. Participants are graded in groups according to ability.
You may decide between two great places.

Objectives:
Riders

+ improve their riding, knowledge and care of horses
+ practice and improve their spoken English
+ are introduced to Irish Culture, make new friends
+ have an enjoyable holiday experience.
The participants live at the equestrian centre and are fully supervised.

Equitation Programme:
Showjumping, cross country and leisure riding. They take care of the horses and ponies and participate in the general activities of the working yard. During the week there are hacks to the lake, picnics, mounted games and competitions.

English Lessons
There is an option of taking English language lessons in small classes. The emphasis is on spoken English for gaining confidence to use the English..

Activities
Supervised evening activities include swimming - in the lake or indoor swimming pool, tennis, pitch & putt, croquet, bowling, barbecue, cinema, and videos. At the end of each week there is an assessment for the BHS Progressive Riding Test, followed by prize giving and presentation of certificates

Beginners, Intermediate and Competition Riders   Even those who have not ridden for a while, will all enjoy the stay. Instruction is pupil centred and designed to progress the rider on from his/her present level. Following assessment you will be offered a programme of lessons and pleasure riding.

Jumping - both showjumping and cross country - is the Centre's specialty. Beginners quickly become confident, novices make rapid progress, and intermediate and open riders learn the finer points.  We have an unaffiliated show most weeks at the equestrian centre (normally on Fridays) in which our guests are welcome to participate as part of their holiday programme. Guests may also register with the Show Jumping Association and take part in official Showjumping competitions. During the summer there are two to three registered shows each week in the locality and we travel to many of them. Cost, approx. €60 - €90

Accommodation
Most of the guests choose the comfortable accommodation and informal setting at the Equestrian Centre, close to the horses and the action.
Teenager will be offered full board.
