The Language Centre
is located in an elegant Georgian Building, within walking distance of all
the main cultural sites and shopping areas. Founded in 1977, it is one of
Ireland's most reputable English language schools, attracting students
from all over the world. The school is recognised by the Department of
Education as an English language school for the teaching of English as a
foreign language. The professional and personalised approach to both
teaching and the organisation of each student's stay has gained the Centre
a world-wide reputation for excellence. |
The Teaching
Teachers are all university graduates with teaching
diplomas and EFL qualifications and, above all, yers of successful
teaching experience. The school has developed its own teaching methods
using very carefully chosen materials and the most up-to-date learning
techniques. Besides videos, tapes and TVs all the latest published
textbooks and workbooks are used in class.
When you arrive at school you are interviewed and tested to determine the
appropriate class for your level of English. Levels are from elementary to
advanced and available throughout the year. Private and small group
tuition is available, particularly to students with special professional,
business or cultural interests.

If you are interested in a Business English Group Course
The maximum number of students in a group is six. The course has been
developed to improve performance in many areas including:

** Business
skills for meetings, negotiation, telephoning, presentations
** Linguistic skills - improving pronunciation and building
vocabulary
** Active listening, concentrting on the necessary skills of
note-taking
** Summarising information both oral and written
** Social situations-relating to clients / colleagues,
hosting receptions and discussing current topics. |
Students joining with us have the
opportunity to prepare for all the most internationally recognised
examinations. The school has an excellent record of achievement in
Cambridge Preliminary, First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency
examinations. These exams take place twice per year in December and June
except for Preliminary which takes place four times (November, April,
May and June). Enrolments are approximately twelve weeks beforehand.

Accommodations
Students are placed in carefully selected Irish families, single
room, breakfast and evening meal and all weekend meals.
Guest-house, self-catering or hotel accommodation, can be arranged
on request for any student not wishing to stay with a host family.
